About Skunk River Block & Pallet

Skunk River Block & Pallet, Inc. is a leader in the custom wood pallet and crating industry, serving central Iowa for over 43 years. The business is well known for building quality new pallets, crates, blocks, and other specialty wood packaging products.

Founded in 1983 in Pella by Arvin and Darlene Van Hall. The couple built the business to address the need of local manufacturers for access to new wood pallets and packaging. Skunk River joined the Rayser Holdings employee owned community in February of 2026. Today, their dream continues to expand, providing specialty wood packaging products for area businesses, big and small. The business continues to operate on the philosophy it has had since the start, “Building a quality product, delivering on time, every time.”
